Authoring Aim Points

Build and maintain directional Aim samples without duplicating the owning State or Context.

Profile Domain

Configure the Horizontal and Vertical axes before building a dense field. The profile stores axis names, ranges, grid divisions, wrapping behavior, and interpolation settings.

Add Points

  1. Move the Aim graph cursor to a target coordinate.
  2. Choose Add Point.
  3. Name the point clearly.
  4. Author or capture the point pose through the same Control Rig authoring model used elsewhere.
  5. Repeat for the directional samples required by the field.

A new point initializes from the pose currently presented at the Aim cursor, including a blended Center or directional result. When a locked Aim profile inherits later parent edits, its points are rebased so their authored resolved poses and IK/FK representation remain stable. State, Context, and Animation Override profiles use the same rule.

Point Tools

Points can be renamed, moved, copied, pasted, enabled, disabled, and deleted. Disabling a point removes it from native Aim blending without deleting its authored pose.

Ownership

Aim points belong to the profile of the selected hierarchy owner. Keep the reusable State intent in the State and author only the directional difference required by each point.

Grid And Triangulation

Profiles can use regular grid interpolation or triangulated sample selection. Preferred Triangulation Direction controls ambiguous diagonal choices when triangulation is used.

Verification

Test exact authored coordinates first, then intermediate blends. A correct point pose does not guarantee the whole interpolation field is correct.
